In coffee roasting, the challenge goes beyond flavor. As production scales up, the real challenges often appear in daily operations: repeatability, workflow, and consistency.
Pratter PLC Series was developed to address this phase. It is not simply a technology upgrade, but a system-based approach that allows the roasting process to be more structured and better controlled.
The Pratter PLC Series is available across all Pratter machine lines, from Pratter 1.5, Pratter 3.0, Pratter 5.0, up to Pratter 12.0. This means the same system approach can be applied across small, medium, and larger production scales.
Below are the 5 key features that define the system:

1. Panel Touch Screen
The touch screen panel allows operators to adjust machine parameters quickly and intuitively. All essential information – temperature, airflow, burner control, and roasting profiles, is displayed in a single, easy-to-read interface.
There is no need to switch between multiple manual controls. Everything becomes more streamlined, responsive, and integrated.

2. Automatic Roasting
With the automatic roasting feature, the machine can run based on saved roasting profiles.
This means:
- Each batch can be replicated with better consistency
- Variations between production batches can be minimized
- Operators do not need to continuously make manual adjustments
This feature becomes increasingly important as a roastery grows and requires stable results at a larger scale.

3. Manual Mode
While automation is important, manual control remains essential for exploration. Manual mode allows operators to:
- Adjust roasting profiles in real-time
- Develop new flavor characteristics
- Experiment with different origins or roasting curves
It creates a balance between system control and human intuition—both equally important in roasting.

4. Linear Control Power Burner
One of the most critical aspects of roasting is heat control. The Linear Control Power Burner system allows flame power to be adjusted with:
- Smoother transitions
- Higher precision through digital control
- Greater stability compared to conventional systems
Its control behavior is similar to a manual valve, but with significantly better repeatability.
As a result, roasting becomes more predictable and easier to replicate.

5. Auto Shutdown
After the roasting process is completed, the system automatically activates to ensure a safe cooling process. The auto shutdown operates at approximately 40°C to:
- Prevent overheating
- Protect machine components
- Extend the lifespan of the equipment
This feature may seem simple, but it plays an important role in long-term operational reliability.

With a combination of digital control, manual flexibility, and integrated safety systems, Pratter PLC Series is designed to support roasteries in building a more stable and scalable operation.
